Gurmeet Singh — Engineer Poet and Emerging Hindi Poet in Delhi NCR

Gurmeet Singh is a rare fusion of logic and lyricism — a software engineer by profession and a Hindi poet by passion. His life is a testament to the harmony between technology and creativity, showing that analytical thinking and poetic expression can coexist beautifully. Recognized as a poet in Delhi NCR, a poet in Ghaziabad, and a kavi at Infosys, Gurmeet inspires countless emerging poets and literature enthusiasts.

Roots and Early Life — From Kheri Khushnam to Ghaziabad

Born in 1992 in the quaint village of Kheri Khushnam, Shamli district, Gurmeet grew up in a middle-class family where values like perseverance, discipline, and curiosity were deeply instilled.

Life changed dramatically when he joined Vishesh Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kamla Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad. Moving from a UP Board school to a CBSE school was a significant academic and cultural shift. As a Hindi-medium student, he was advised to choose Hindi as a subject, but Gurmeet’s heart was set on Computer Science. His decision to follow his passion, despite doubts, laid the foundation for his journey as an engineer poet.

The Turning Point — Challenges and Resilience

The transition from Hindi-medium UP Board education to English-medium CBSE curriculum in Class 11 was demanding. Gurmeet, a bright student in Hindi, had to adapt to a completely new learning environment. Through persistence, countless late-night study sessions, and unwavering determination, he not only adapted but excelled, proving that courage and commitment can overcome any obstacle.

Academic and Professional Journey

Gurmeet pursued B.Tech in Computer Science from the prestigious KIET Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad, one of Delhi NCR’s top engineering colleges.

In 2015, his long-cherished dream came alive when he joined Infosys Limited, training at its renowned Mysore campus. From that moment, the small-town boy officially became a software engineer. Today, he works as a Project Manager at Infosys, primarily focusing on project governance and leadership, ensuring excellence in complex IT projects.

Despite the corporate responsibilities, Gurmeet’s poetic identity remains central. He approaches both coding and management with the same creativity and structure he applies to his poetry — a true testament to the engineer poet persona.

Literary Contributions — KIET-Kavyanjali and Infosys Poetry Clubs

Even during his academic journey, Gurmeet never let go of his love for Hindi literature. In 2013, he founded KIET-Kavyanjali, a literary club dedicated to promoting Hindi poetry and literature. As the founder and president, he cultivated a vibrant platform where students could express emotions, ideas, and creativity through poetry, inspiring a new generation of writers.

Gurmeet extended this vision to the corporate world by establishing Kavyanjali at Infosys Pune in 2016 and later Infosys Noida in 2023. These clubs encourage employees to explore Hindi poetry, participate in open mics, and foster a culture of creative expression, earning him recognition as a poet at Infosys and a true advocate for corporate literary culture.

The Poet Within — Hindi Poetry and Emerging Poets in Delhi NCR

Gurmeet’s poetry is simple, evocative, and deeply reflective. Drawing inspiration from Kabir and Tulsidas, his work touches on love, nature, society, and personal introspection. As one of the emerging poets in Delhi NCR and Ghaziabad, he has captivated audiences at literary festivals, cultural gatherings, and corporate events, leaving a lasting impression on all who experience his heartfelt recitations.

✨ A Final Thought

Between algorithms and verses, I discovered balance. Between logic and emotion, I found poetry. And through poetry — I found myself.
